Food
Students are not allowed to bring stove n fridge to the hostel, but are allowed to bring rice cooker n kettle. As for outside food, there is a "mamak" shop more or less 7 minutes walk from Cendana called Dawood. Prices can be rather expensive, however it is one of the few places for Cendana students to eat at. There is a market nearby, where students can buy fruits and fresh products. There will be "pasar malam" at the market every Tuesday and Friday evening.
There are also a couple of Malay food stalls opposite the market, the most popular being Mak Endon. Prices are much lower as compared to Dawood but hygiene is questionable. In Cendana itself, there will be a van there selling food every evening, however, the food isn't very nice and the hygiene in preparing the food is questionable too. There is a possibility of suffering from diarrhea after taking the food either from Mak Endon or Cendana van. Therefore, care should be taken when choosing the food. Take these food at your own risk.

General View of Life at Cendana
It is a rather peaceful place that is not as hectic as Cemara/Akasia at Seksyen 18. The only issue students might face is the lack of food variety. The air quality is also good as it is far from any factories or major traffic.
