Should we abolish SPM & STPM and replace them with O Levels and A Levels?

welcome to all!!!im here about to hear ur opinions about abolishing spm&stpm and replaced it with o-levels and a-levels,as both of them are more flexible(maybe a bit)than formers.please leave your comment here,thx!!

Politicians will definitely oppose as this signals the end of the national language Bahasa Malaysia. On paper, it is brilliant and definitely the right track towards a better education system but we have to be realistic. The urban students will surely be rubbing their hands with glee but what will happen to rural and many students who cannot keep up with even the easy SPM we have now? We have to take in mind too the deplorable state of English here....can you imagine how many will fail the paper? Even a pass in SPM is already creating a storm now...

STPM? Nope....in fact they should drop matrix and make everyone go through STPM

i think its better way to improve malaysians english as except mother tongue(malay,chinese,indian),all subjects carried out in english without offense status of bahasa malaysia as national language as its also included as a subject in both exam..the difference between spm and o levels is maximum subjects can be taken in o-levels are 9 while spm are 10,but at least o levels doesn't have to study pendidikan moral as we have to remember all 36 moral values to answer the question.

Come to think of it, moral IS the dumbest subject anyone can think of in the world!

Hear, hear. I dunno, but I feel that if they really want us to have morals, ethics etc, they should teach a subject where students actually have to do thinking. Like those Philosophy classes in universities

Actually, on that I disagree. History is a very important subject to learn and understand. The only thing is that the syllabus is not wide enough; it should cover major events that has happened throughout history especially in the whole world

actually SPM syllabus are ok,or maybe packed!!!
we just need to change the marking system....
well said that most Pre-U science subjects are just the repeated+ more information of Form4/5 science subjects

Plus,actually almost all commonwelth countries' syllabus are standardised.....
read Princess Diaries and it i shown that they learn the same thing like us do........

i think the biggest difference on syllabus of history in malaysia and others are our history are too focus on islam,and nearer to become islamic studies and contribution of non-malays on lead to country's development have been abandoned and our history studies seems have to be racism and unfair to others in this multi-racial country..
