I realised that not many people nowadays wanna major in Science.
But I have chosen to major in Science (hopefully Chemistry) because I have a great deal of interest in all the 3 sciences...

Can any senior that also applied for Science course under JPA in previous years enlighten us on whether we will get the Science course we want as we applied under SCIENCE only--> no specification.

A big thanks in advance!!

Thread JPA Science course in AUP merged.

i applied for science too. and during my interview, i told the interviewer i wish to major in chemistry... my ambition is to be a chemist.
The interviewer told me that i need to do foundation in science for 18 months first then go for degree and in my case would be degree in chemistry... one and a half hour more to know the result.. :S

science is very broad indeed...studying science overseas is a great advantage as u got a lots of chance to major in big and prominent reseach.
The oppurtunities are fabulous.if u were dedicated and inquisitive enuf, u can involve in invention of products and machinery stuffs.
More or less , doing reseach overseas can change one's outlook and perspectives!

most of my friends that received the jpa scholarship to do science last year were sent to INTI as they are bound for the USA. if i am not mistaken, choosing a major from biology, chemistry, and physics should not be a problem at all. usually, jpa may have a certain list of fields that you may pursue that you would have to follow.

I'm a JPA scholar of year 2008, studyin for Science course, bound to go to UK next year. So, anyone that has any question about anything regarding Science course provided by PSD, feel free to ask me.

To add to the info, anyone that has applied under Science course, bound for UK, you can apply for any science courses that has Bsc in its degree title, but not a sandwich course, not a double major course, not a course related to medicine, biotech or any other courses mentioned in other PSD applications. And it must be a 3 yrs course.

But sadly though, we are not allowed to apply for Cambridge and Oxford, as their science courses have a degree title of BA.
