Discussion: Malaysian Food in Michigan

hey guys. this message goes out to all sunloving, food derpived, homesick malaysians out there that are in michigan. it has come to my attention that michigan does not have any malaysian restaurants. is this really true? please come on and prove me wrong. i have not tried bamboo club yet so i will try that soon. but yeah, is there any place here where i can get a decent plate of curry mee or nasi lemak. please help this food deprived boy.

Which part of michigan are u at? As far as I am concern there isn't one around my place. The closest Malaysian food I could think of (there may be one closer but i'm not sure) is Penang at Chicago.

im at southfield. studying at lawrence tech. but yeah chicago is a bit far. have to plan like a whole roadtrip just to eat there. i heard there is one at novi. the bamboo club i think it was called. anyways hows the one in chicago? can get good nasi lemak there ah? or is it all "americanized"?

Just find the students at University of Michigan. Some of them cook superb Malaysian dishes.

you know theres a reason why i asked for a restaurant you know. if it was only me that wanted it then no shit ill visit one of them but its a whole household full of people. kinda kurang ajar abit rite going to sum randoms house with a car full of people. anyways i heard msu is having sum malaysian get together? can i get more info on that. would like to go there and absorb sum culture since its been awhile. i heard there was one coming up in march. does anyone have info on that?
