Event: ReComers Gathering at Youth '09 (UPDATE: Photos inside!)

Do we need to sign up for this Youth '09 for this ReComers gathering? I believe not, right?

Anyway, if I want to go for this Youth '09, would I need to sign up, or could I just walk in?

If I have the time I'd come over for this Youth '09 event. Of course, I'd be purchasing a ticket at the Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS first. I intend to watch the MPO performance after the ReComers gathering, and also stay over in KL for a night.

Any hotels at or around Jalan Ampang? (You aren't suggesting Nikko Hotel, are you?)

Yes. You do need to sign up for Youth '09 to attend this ReCom gatherings. Just a quick signing up.

You could walk in as well, but might need to line up.

After ReComers gathering, we can still hang around to go for dinner etc. I am free the entire day of 10th after the gathering.

On hotels, would suggest YMCA (5 minutes walk from KL Sentral). That would be the cheapest. Nikko/Crown Princess/Corus are all around KLCC. But they are quite costly.

Ah, thanks. Hmmm... I've thought of YMCA... but I'm choosing to watch the MPO performance that night, and I'm quite reluctant to travel in the LRTs after 10.30 pm in my best lounge suit. I wouldn't want to attract any unwanted attention.

Thus, a mental debate for me: should I risk my safety and opt for a cheap accommodation (YMCA) or should I risk paying more but knowing that I would most probably come back to university in one piece?

Dude chill man. This isn't Harlem or the Bronx. You aren't going to get mugged by gangsta' knife wielding men. The LRT's still have lots of passengers at night (I should know, I take it all the time to get to KL for clubbing!) even up to the last train (around 11.55) The walk from KL Sentral to YMCA is perfectly safe because that place is always packed with people taking the late night buses. Don't worry.

ReComers to be at Youth '09 Community Gathering for ReCom.org

Date:- 10th January 2009 (Saturday)
Time:- 3pm to 5pm
Venue:- Mezzanine Floor, PWTC

It would be an open microphone, where ReComers would be able to share a few minutes of your own ideas there, and main thing is mingle and knowing more ReComers. We can go dinner together after that too.

Oh! The ReComers' Gathering is just for a day only, surely. We don't need to be there all the three days (unless you want to be there for all the Youth '09 activities).
