thats the point of the show. it gives the audience the experience of actually being chased by a monster terrorising new york. if you wanna watch a monster destroying new york in god-mode, watch godzilla instead.

I'll echo Shoblast and say that Cloverfield is AWESOME - had this been released in 2007, it'd be my pick for movie of the year.

I can't believe nobody has recommended "THE GODFATHER" series. Loved the first two. The third was good but no where near as good as the first two. I mean "Leave the gun, take the canoli" has got so many interpretations, it's one of my favourite quotes. Ever.

Some other movies that I love.

Forrest Gump (Watched it at least 8 times)
The Green Mile
The Lord of the Rings Series
V for Vendetta (The Wachowski Bros. Awesome)
The Matrix Trilogy (Need I say more)
Saving Private Ryan (Makes me cry everytime)
Philadelphia (the issues, so taboo yet so close to heart)
Sleepless in Seattle (Highly enjoyable chick flick)
Pretty Woman (A cinderella story)
Pride And Prejudice ( The Keira Knightley version)
American Gangster ( Denzel killed it)
Man on fire
Training Day (denzel definitely deserved that oscar)
inside man (funny and suspenseful bank robbery)
12 Angry Men ( A definite Classic)
Jaws
Erin Brockovich
Stepmom (a cryfest)
The Ocean series (Especially 11 and 13)

I'll add more when I remember them.
Anyway I watched these two movies on hbo recently, and they are definitely worth a look.

Children of men (Clive Owens killed it. The theme is not politics, but the loss of hope)
The Holiday (Entertaining Chick Flick)

i have the entire godfather series, but havent got the time to watch them though. dog day afternoon and serpico, however, are al pacino's most defining films.

Give the BBC TV mini-series version a go - it sticks to the book for most parts...

vantage point.

an impressive movie. the director is smart to make a 20minutes incident into a long movie. it shows us how the movie evolve in different point of view from different pair of eyes. ;)
