Exactly. You definitely should attribute things to religion, it obviously motivates a lot of people. The problem only comes when we attribute too much to it. Or, in the extreme case of some people, attributing everything in their lives to it.

No its not.

Its another christian white trash trying to paint the entire islam religion as a religion of hatred, while ignoring the western worlds role in shaping that image. He also ignores the western worlds worlds role in any of this conflict. As if this animosity just appeared.

I almost spit my drink when he said "Islam is not like Christianity, which teaches one should love his enemy." What, he ignores the better part of of the past 2000 years of christian history? Attention pot, do not call the kettle black. Its not nice.

I'll still have to concede though, there are really sick and violent parts of islam. But heck, you can say exactly the same thing about christianity. but they grew out of it. Now we need to give the middle east to become more civilised.

All in all, a pissing match between opposite delusions.

A lowers and belittles B so that A looks better.

when people say Religion causes war, most likely it is Abraham-religion as history backs this fact up.

Nowadays people in Europe are fed up with Churches. They are educated. They are not stupid to give in to the brainwashing of Abraham-religion. (exception : some fanatics of course)

However, this is different in countries full of uneducated, poor and frustrated people. They are easily manipulated and they need scapegoats to fill their insecurity. They are easily taken as pawns of terrorists to cause havoc. Worst still these fanatics are cowards. They target those who cannot defend themselves like schoolgirls and monks.

Therefore the long term solution is education and sufficient level of living standard, just like in northern Europe where people are secure and educated. They are mature enough to ignore religious bullshitting and bashing.

Europeans educated and feel secured?

I find it very odd that people dimiss things as if they know everything but in fact they most likely know nothing or know little of. The church's history was bloody, it cannot be disputed. It is after all, an institution run by humans, hence with it, good and bad things can happen. People always focus on the scandals of the church, while igoring the same contributions that the church give. People talk about Father(insert name), the paedophile priest, but discuss nothing or even mention anything about Father John Bosco. People talk about how bad the church is by prohibiting contraception, abortion blah blah blah, when it is the same church that is the world's largest humanitarian body, with legions of grassroot workers actively caring for those in need, AIDS patients, the destitute, the sick, the whatnot.

How many of us make it part of our lives to visit those in prison? How many of us make it part of our lives to visit the dying in hospitals? How mnay of us make it part of our lives to comfort and give hope to the despair? How many of us can share our lives with others? I myself find it difficult to do so.......what about you?

C is absolutely right because he did a lot of charity.

haha

anyways, I politely ask you to debate the idea without the need to hit at posters/forumers. In another words, you can be civilized instead of choosing to be like an extremist.

there is a simple wisdom :
agree to disagree

I hope you have such. Not all people, esp those religious fanatics, have it.
