Cover up or else
Interestingly, i find myself in the state of dilemma after reading this piece of news. My mind tells me that this new law is a total rubbish. It appears to me that this is yet another law to restrict human freedom; something that a democratic country who yearns to be a developed in 2020 should not be practising. We don't see well developing cities like KL practising such rules isn't it? On the other hand my heart tells me that this action is right! They are only going against the retail store workers who wel... should wearing uniforms instead. What do you think? |

Even in The mighty might US of A (which people tend to always bench mark themselves too) there are dress codes in retail outlets and restaurants. I highly doubt that Wal-Mart would allow a female employee (don't matter what religion she is) to come in dressed up in similar tight uniform like a girl working at hooters. also there are weird laws (depending on a persons point of view) EVERYWHERE. EVEN in A developed country like the US example of dress code laws in US: In Chicago, it is illegal to fish in one's pajamas. and from Favorite STATE!! In Utah, A husband is responsible for every criminal act committed by his wife while she is in his presence.

However, is it necessary to have a law specially proposed to restrict what we (they) wear? Bounded by business ethics, retail stores themselves should have their respective dress codes to follow.
Consider this response Outrage over fine for revealing clothes Quote:
True enough, do we need to use the way we look after children to govern our country's women? Is using law a bit too serious? And one of her points hits the jackpot too. Why only the women? what about us, the men? |
