Hello..

I am currently working on the UWC application essay..many questions pool my mind..

Is the essay an important part of the application? And what should be highlighted in the essay? Should I be humble or very bold?

I would love any help from anyone..thx!

I am not very experienced in writing admission essays, but since I had had experience in interviews (which I think bear a slight resemblance when it comes to evaluation), I would try to offer my opinion anyway.

I think it's not good to be overly humble as it might make you look incompetent and unconfident. You should present your competence and confidence in the best way you could, just be careful not to go overboard, lest you are deemed as self-important and vain.

Is there a certain scope or subjects of your admission essay?

The essay is very very important. It can make or break your application.

Try to be personal, use details instead of being too general. Basically, write an essay only you can write.

Well since UWC is more towards culture and peace etc, i guess i have to elaborate on those..?

The essay just requires me to say y i wanna go to UWC and experiences i have had with different cultures..

I would say try to stick as much as possible to the topics they gave you cos 300 words is really nothing.

and about the culture and peace part, while it's good to show your interest in that, just be careful not to sound too unrealistic or fake.

u are rite. i doubled the word limit and had to painstakingly cut it down.

I just hope my essay's impact wont be cut half too..rather hard to get anywhere in 300words..!
