If so, what subjects do you guys encourage me to take? I'm intending to major in Economics/Business related fields. I should be taking 4 subjects. I've already chosen 3 out of the 4 which are Physics, Economics and Mathematics.

Once again, thanks a lot for the help! I really appreciate your advices.
You do not need to take 4 subjects unless you really want to. Further Mathematics would be better, since it is still mathematics, not an entirely new subject like chemistry or accounting or whatever.

The combination is good, with AAA and a decent PS, you'll definietly get a place at LSE.

Agree with bush. I just want to add however, a friend of mine who was offered a place for actuarial science by LSE was given a conditional offer of 3As, Further Math included even though she took four core subjects.

I'm actually worried that if I do take Further Maths, I might not be able to cope with it as my Additional Maths during secondary school is not very strong. If I take other subjects besides Further Maths for example like Sociology or History or English Literature, is it feasible?
I do dream of entering LSE if I do go to UK but other universities like University of Manchester are okay for me too.
Thanks so much for the extremely quick reply!!!

Like it or not, if you do economics, you need mathematics, so sooner or later, either you improve or you just drop out.

Take anything that you are comfortable with. Only take the 4th subject if it does not effect your performance in the other 3.

Entering LSE is not a difficult thing, there are truckloads of Malaysians getting offers from LSE every year, whether they make it there is another thing. So are Imperial, UCL and King's. It's all about the ????????

Yea, if you feel that you are not able to cope with having Further Math as your forth subject, you better take another subject. A Level General Math is basically like the SPM Additional Math though it delves a bit deeper. Further Math on the other hand, is completely different and much more complicated. So don't take if you feel that you won't be able to do well in it.

I think the few subjects you're thinking of taking should be fine. As far as I know, conditional offers to do Economics usually do not include Further Math, so don't worry too much about it.

Yup, I'm choosing to improve rather than drop out.
I'm doing my best to improve on my Mathematics so far so that I would be able to handle it in college.
Thanks a lot once again for the advices!!!

Which university will you all choose for E&E Engineering between
(Newcastle and Birmingham)and Queen Mary London?

Newcastle gained 5 in research and A in Staff Proportion and is ranked in Top 20 for E&E by THES
Birmingham is also ranked 5 in research but C in Staff Proportion (but I think the university main strength in engineering is in ChemEng)

while

QMUL gained 3a in research and B in Staff Proportion and in not ranked in E&E for Top 20.
However,QMUL ranked higher than Newcastle in Guardian.

Despite those rankings,QMUL Department of engineering has "has been in existence for over a hundred years",will that be an advantage to the university in E&E?

AND

Will the membership of QMUL of University of London gives the university an edge over Newcastle and Birmingham in E&E?

p/s:I just intend to bring up a discussion on this topic only.

Thank You.

It doesn't really matter because once you're an engineer, you're an engineer.

The thing that is important here is ?????. QM is in the outskrits of London, the cost may be sllghtly more expensive or similar to that of Bham and Newcastle.

Popular?

Cambridge is infamous for Mathematics. The mathematics tripos is arguebly the toughest course in the world.

Any performing university would do as the price varies from universities in London to elsewhere.
