anyway...just curious...if some of the courses offered by the university college is not approved by LAN yet...does that mean it is no good to study that course in that particular university college....let say an A university college...offer medicine..but their medicine has not approved by LAN..but it is recognised by MMC..so izzit good to study there?
i heard those courses that are not recognised by LAN..becoz the courses that the university offered are still new..they have only enroll students for one or two batch..but later on...their program will be approved by LAN....
lastly.what's the difference if a course is approved by LAN...and vice versa?

Are university colleges necessarily superior to colleges?

I think Taylor's College should be counted in, as IMO it's one of the finest private colleges in m'sia, if not the best one.

How good a college is depends on their lecturers and whether they have support reading and study materials like manuals and text books. Very often a college will produce its own material with the blessing of the foreign partner and is sometimes not checked so the quality is suspect. Make sure when you enrol in the college of your dreams that the partner university from the foreign country supplies you with manuals, exercises and past year exam questions etc. You might not think these are important but wait till you don't have much to work on then start worrying.

Secondly, are the examiners local or foreign or both? What are their pass rates? How do current students feel about them? How do employers and businesses feel about these colleges and the degrees? These are some questions I would like answered if I were to enroll in any one of them.

Finally, visit the campus and find out what cars the directors are driving as the expensive fees you might be paying might go towards the directors' fees and car maintenance. Not that I am saying that most colleges are overly materialistic but there is some truth to it. Caveat Emptor. Make sure that there is a pass rate and not some new college with nobody ever passing. This is an indication of something fishy.

i am an ex-taylorian who did CAL there for 2 years...perhaps its me, but it wasn't up to my expectations.
