Say your homeless Indonesian friend wants to put up at your place for a week or two because he isn't happy with his parents. Can you say you'll be the happiest person on earth? Probably not...... That's my point.
I totally disagree with above statement that 'Non-bumis' are refugees. Refugees by definition means 'one who flees to another country and seek for asylum for fear of persecution in his country. My great great grand parents emigrated to Malaysia during the early 18th century for economic reasons just like any other early inhabitants who have migrated to Malaya. I am sure there are Chinese and other ethnic groups who have emigrated even earlier than my great grand parents. During the British rule, my great grand parents was already residents in Malaysia. When I was born, both my grand parents and my parents were already citizen of Malaysia. And I was born in Malaysia after the Indepence, so how can anyone classify me as a refugee or guest of this country. If I'm a refugee in this country, then where is my country? btw, my family have never ask for the sympathy of anyone. We have always work hard for a living. According to my grand parents, my great grand parents were seafarers and merchants who owned some 'Kelongs' off the coast of Pelabuhan Klang.

What agreement are we referring to here??? Agreement between who and who??? I don't believe that there is an agreement that states that 'Non-Bumi' are refugees or guest of this country.
If Americans were to abide by some unfair human rights agreement that was drafted some century back by some slave traders and owners, then all the black people in America will still be slave today.

If we were to honour the so call fair 'Agreement', just imagine, 500 years from now, your great great great great grand children will still called a "refugee" in Malaysia.

Btw, we should not label each other as 'Bumi' and 'Non Bumis'. We are all Malaysian. Once we start labeling each other, our action is considered 'racism'.

1 Malaysia - another slogan that will stifle all creativity/critical-thinking when it comes to SPM essay-writing. (in my case it's BM karangan.)

I always felt that government propaganda has the greatest effect on my isi karangan BM.

The Japanese are very hardworking as well, I would say, even more hardworking than the Chinese.

I believe that people are afraid of the Chinese because of our lack of moral codes. We steal, and steal blatantly. We cheat, and cheat blatantly.

I have met several Chinese from China through my time in college and university, and I would say, they are very arrogant. Even when I'm a Chinese, I would try to avoid doing business with them if I can help it.
