Nowadays I see lotsa political and current issue threads...

I haven?t seen threads discussing about studying so I decided to open one thread.

A lot of students choose to invest thier time to do homework, go to tuition and read books to excel in exam. I doubt that doing so will significantly increase their intelligence.

Not many people choose to improve qualities such as creativity and memory capacity. So I would love to know if you have any method that is helpful in increasing learning capacity and intelligence.

Thanks for sharing. Please vote on the poll above. Many thanks

------------

Study less and learn more !

EDIT :

I am not allowed to put too many poll options....
here are some other useful methods :

Meditation + breathing method
Reggion model + Reverse speech
Dairy Writing (for memory and creativity)
Concentration exercise (candle method, breathing meditation etc.)

wow, pretty eclectic mix of techniques you have there. i find that learning even one technique is very time consuming and usually hidden under layers of technical text about the philosophy of a particular technique rather than the practical aspects of a technique. Maybe I've been looking in the wrong places.

The brainwave thing makes me go ballistic. It's like learning while listening to the beep made by the Astro box searching for a signal.

No... do not underestimate your mind?s ability.

These technique actually take little time to master as mental ability improves very fast (unlike studying) according to my experience.

Brainwave entrainment is simple actually. Just listen to Baroque music or look upwards and you will have alpha brainwave easily (conducive for learning).

It would be much more beneficial if you manage to sink down to THETA wave instantly... that you can do very effective short cat naps and sleep less in a day so that you have more time to learn.

omg. That would take ages to explain every method.

Theta and Alpha is just a state of our brainwave, which is conducive for learning and being creative.
There are Delta (below 4 Hz), Theta (4 Hz to 8 Hz), Alpha (8 to 14 Hz) and Beta (conscious state. There are also Epsilon and Gamma brainwave but those are use for rare purposes....
I hope this helps.

I am interested to know if there?s anybody who invest some time to increase thier intelligence, instead of spending most of thier student lifetime in doing homework and going to tuition. thanks

Hi i-qing, those are very interesting methods! Well, mine is more *spiritual. I follow a certain ...method of learning. I find myself able to learn better, understand better, and well, makes me emotionally happy too.
-high aspirations in knowledge
- the burning desire for seeking knowledge
- emigrating for the sake of seeking knowledge
-preserving of knowledge through writing it
-preservation of knowledge through paying attention to it
-occasional revision of knowledge
-honesty in knowledge
-truthhfulness
-the sanctuary of the seeker of knowledge
-preserving your capital (lifetime)
-relaxing the body
-precision and correction reading
-summarising long compilations (through reading)
-excellence in asking questions
-debating without argumentation
-revision of knowledge in groups

The etiquette of the seeker's inner self
- knowledge is worship
-lower your wing and put arrogance and pride behind you
-adorn yourself with the splendour of knowledge
-adorn yourself with honour
-enjoy masculine qualities
-adorn with gentleness
-contemplation
-firmness and confirmation

I;ve been following it for some years, and it works for me, because it not only improve my understanding and the love of knolwegde but it makes me much stronger inside as well..
Anyway, hope i make some sense

That?s interesting that you are finding methods to improve yourself but from what I see, they looks like building your attitude sort of stuff.

You can use affirmation or self hypnosis to program your atttitude to become what you desire.

Interesting indeed.

I think those are more towards attitude than method.
thanks anyway.

Now I see many people vote for creative imagination and imagination sharpening. Personaly this skill is very useful in many situation.

For example by sharpening certain imagination sensation it is very much easier to unlock certain memory and recall events since events are remembered in sensation. If you sensation imagination is very sharp, your mind can tap into your memory very easily to gain certain information. so it is best to sharpen your imagination for powerful mind.
There?s a book with a lot of imagination sharpening exercises. It?s called Initiation Into Hermetic by Franz Bardon. I think there?s downloadable version so you do not need to buy it.

Thanks for sharing.

Yes it does, it is also a way of disciplining urself in "seeking knowledge" I find it useful for me because I am doing research and sometimes I get pretty stress and I always must think of solutions to my research stuff. So I need the strength and the right attitude in order to complete my Phd and my personal long term goal.
M..i will def check out the book u recommended. I think listening to music can also sharpen ur imagination.. I still practice that, before I go to bed ..(weird stuff I do). I listen to different kind of music to induce different kind of feelings, different music gives me different color of images in my mind. I spend a lot of time in nature and is inspired by real life, it's a way for me to increase my creativity. Anything I see, feel, think, I try to make sense out of it, it's just my personal hobby...again hope i make sense..heh..but of course mine is not scientifically proven, just u know..personal way of learning and etcs..

HMm.. I think it?s a good way if we add each other to instant messenger so that we can discuss these stuffs...

I too did a lot of weird experiments...

I bought a phillips headphone to test various brainwave entrainment sounds, not just music...
it is possible to get a brainwave entrainment software... they aren?t expensive... there are free trial version too.

If you really like to listen to music to induce certain feelings, I would recommend you to try Brain Sound Studio (BSS) by transparentCorp. There is trial version. you can download them at www.TransParentCorp.com

They are very well documented experiment where you can read a lot of graphs and theories behind it.

So far I like stuffs from transparentCorp and I think I have made the right choice of buying NP and NNS from it

you can also get a brainwave entrainment software from www.bwgen.com
