not relevant to racism at all...

anyway, i can read chinese and the poster says 'The only SJKC in Malaysia' ..............i'm from SJKC and my school is not like that...heck, all classes have whiteboards, computer, projector, black windows, air con, a air con-ed hall that can fit thousands of students...also, PJ/KL itself have a few dozens of SJKC..

p/s those facilities were donated by teow chew association.

The caption reads "the only SJKC in Malaysia that conducts its classes in shipping containers".

it doesn't speak a thing to me as well. im still studying off government's facility like the land and the teachers from public service department. even chinese private schools, i think there are like 60 of them in Malaysia. those extra features are just candies if the society have more money to donate...also, my point was, that cargo thing is not my school, so at least to me, there are A LOT MORE sjkc in malaysia.

seriously i think malaysia is one of the very very few country which allow different venicular schools. in many countries, they would have just merge all the minorities and learn the same language/syllabus.

i think it literally meant there is only one SJKC in Malaysia. instead of the only SJKC in container.

Actually youngyew's definition is the exact definition of what was written in Chinese. It is definitely not the only SJKC in Malaysia, but is claimed to be the only SJKC in Malaysia that conducts classes in containers.

It is "common knowledge" among Mandarin-educated communities that SJK(C) schools get disproportionately lower funding from the federal government compared to SK schools, hence the need for donations, in this case from the Teo Chew or whatever association, or very often from the school board (董事会)。

Btw, I tend to distinguish between racism and racial discrimination. Racism is the belief that one race is superior to others, racial discrimination is the differential treatment or allocation of resources on the basis of the race of an individual or community.

^ er, quest, did notice that 货柜 is in the sentence

anyway, i read the article on the chinese educated students, i find the comments more interesting, bet all of them are by malaysian chinese community, all of them extremely biased towards vernacular school

and if i remembered corrrectly, all schools receives funding from the government, but not much which is why, ALL schools ask their students to seek out donation or organizes events to raise fund?

at the end of the day, what am i suppose to discuss here?
