A ballpark figure is to multiply the number of years of study by two and that will more or less the term of the bond.

France or Germany?
Which country is better if I want to study chemical engineering?

What is your definition of 'better'? It is impossible to absolutely say one country as better over the other because too much generalisation would be involved.

I'm confused. From what i read from the website, Fachhochschule has faculties of Architecture, Civil Engineering, Geomatic, Computer Science and Engineering. What about mechanical engineering and aeronautical engineering as mentioned by YungYik?

P.S. I intend to study mechanical engineering under this scholarship if i get it.

I'm not sure but I heard JPA limit the courses to mechanical, chemical and electrical. This may not be true but you might want to make sure before you accept.

As far as I know mechanical engineering is not a problem. Fachhochschule simply means University of Applied Science and there are a lot of Fachhochschule all over in the state of Baden-Wurttemberg and they offer a wide range of courses. However it is JPA who decide which courses can applied for. Usually they don't allow the more unusual courses (eg optoelectrotechnics, enviromental engineering) They used to but they've changed policy over the years.

I'm studying mechanical engineering as well

No what happens is when you get the scholarship you'll do two and a half year pre-u programme and then only will you apply to the unis and course that you want. You get two choices for both uni and course. There will be a list showing which of the courses you can apply for.

In fact, I'm not sure whether the FHs here in Baden-Wuerttemberg even have this course but further research would be needed.

As for the interview itself, the interviewers themselves may or may not know how it works because some of them are professionals and aren't working in the scholarship department of JPA. So I'm really not sure how it would work out. I doubt they'll fail you immediately due to the course you want though. But that's not the most important part. The most important thing is, if you do get the scholarship and you accept it, do keep in mind that there is a probability you won't get to pursue aeronautical engineering. I suppose it may be possible to do it at masters level after a bachelor in say, for example mech. engineering. BUT please don't take my word for it for I myself have only just started my degree so I'm not entirely certain if that's possible to do so.

I'm truly sorry I can't help you more in this matter. As the years go by, JPA keeps changing their terms and conditions and I don't keep track. Lots of what I mentioned (about doing it in masters level) are only hearsay.

I hope you guys checked out the jpa website and read what it states.

Taken from the website:
