Alright, to start this off and to make it easier to read, I will talk about 2 topics. 1. Jurusan Perakaunan M003. In this stream, there are 4 elective subjects or aka "pointer subjects" which will take account in your academic achievement (CGPA or PNGK) in the Matriculation programme. The 4 subs are (The ones in brackets are the subject codes): -Perakaunan (AA) -Pengurusan Perniagaan (AN) -Ekonomi (AE) -Mathematics (QA) The subs mentioned above ARE COMPULSORY, so whether if there are subs you dislike and wish to drop, sorry you can't do so but instead take it as an opportunity to learn new things. I hated Pengurusan Perniagaan but I beared with it and found out I didn't regret studying this sub because it helps you to understand the Business/Economic/Accounting field better in the future. Other than those are the core subs which are needed to be done by ALL matriculation students. Well I'm not going to discuss about these here because they're general subjects and they're not counted in the CGPA or PNGK. Okay all the Accounting subjects are in Bahasa Melayu EXCEPT Mathematics which is in English. To me, I feel that the language is not a problem at all in matriculation. Though I disliked it at first, but it turned out to be easier to study those subs and it helps those with low command of English to learn better. And besides, if you have a good command of English as well, it is DEFINITELY will NOT be a problem to you as the subs will be conducted in English in university level. And my advice is don't take this as a deterrent of considering matriculation, take it like an encouragement and a challenge for you! We'll move on to the next topic. 2. Matriculation vs Other private courses. No doubt that other courses/programmes like CAT or TAFE are definitely better and more recognized than matriculation, but let me tell you a fact. Syllabus in CAT and Matriculation is VERY SIMILAR. I used to be in CAT for 2 weeks and I got offered to Matriculation, some of my friends were in CAT and we compared syllabus. Other than that, both CAT and Matriculation is minimally one year or longer. Not so sure about the new academic calendar for your batch 2011/2012. Moreover, my friends are still in CAT since they were from March intake whereas I completed my Matriculation already. From my side of the story, Matriculation was faster. And another fact. The accounting standards in Malaysia are actually one of the prestigious ones in the world, so why not? FYI, I am coming back to KMPP on May 23rd. Will be your facilitator to the Accounting stream. See you soon
