I think the blogging phenomenon just goes on to show how the public and private sphere is no longer clear cut in today's world - the lines are in fact very very blurred. I just did a term paper on teenagers and blogging - what I realised is that for many of them, a blog is actually a sort of construction of their identity as they are desperately trying to search for some fixity in their lives. Blogging is also another form of online communication where online communities are formed and yea - it's good to hear that others support what you say at times
For me personally, blogging is a way for my friends to catch up with my life without me having to email/call everyone to catch up and vice versa.
Then again, we can't deny that some people are just plain exhibitionists. Fetishes, anyone?
