Hey everyone, I'm a noob in computer and i'll like to get your help =S

I'm using windows 7 starter and i'll like to ask :

1. How to check the size of hard disk?

2.How to share files so that it appears in the Network Neighborhood?

3. How to check the size of RAM and the speed of CPU?

4.How to set Internet Explorer to be your default browser ?

1. Open explorer and select "Computer." You will see the size and usage of every disk there.
2. This is quite complicated. Will elaborate when I have the time later.
3. Start -> Right Click on "Computer" -> Properties. The window should look like the following:

4. Internet Explorer -> Tools -> Internet Options -> Programs tab -> Set Default. Why do you want to use Internet Explorer anyway? Use Chrome or Firefox instead. Otherwise, use IE9 Beta.
5. No answer

CPU = Central Processing Unit. It is pretty self-explanatory now...

oh okay thanks.

I actually found this file in C drive in Windows folder which is called 'Media' . I opened it but I don't know what's the content about, they seem like pictures.

Can anyone enlighten me on this?

I'm not sure but my Media folder contains audio files. Every sound my laptop makes (like those start-up beeps or battery low beeps) are contained here. I'm guessing folder is just for storage.

and another thing, when I increased my screen resolution, everything seems bigger, i.e. from 800x600 to 1440x900 ( this is called increase right? ) then does that mean my working space is bigger as well? I'm kinda confused between these terms

When you increase your resolution, you are making the elements on the desktop smaller, because you are cramming more things into the same amount of space.

Having said that, when everything is smaller, yes, you will have a bigger working space as well. Of course, you don't want to increase the resolution so much that you can't read the words on the screen.
