When we talk about chinese and and the so called-- zhong wern, we gotta to know the ancient history from where, who, and what contributions did every chinese philosophers had made and contributed before that lead to the things and theory that we learned now .
Let us discuss something more beneficial about the chinese maths and medicines, the origin of certain maths theory and the the originality of certain cultures and medicines that have passed on till today.

The earliest chinese text is undeniably the suan shu shu written on bamboo stick. Zhou bi suan jing is a text on astronomy ans it conveys to us the way to calculate the positions of heavenly bodies using shadow gauges. I will leave it to u guys to explain what is actually a shadow gauge.

Do you guys know who is the one that produced the first calander? haha..it is this famous mathematicians named LuoXia Hong.

we have talked about the earliest chinese maths text which is suan shu shu, how about the one which is the most famous? well, it is after all the jiu zhang suan shu, commonly know as the Nine Chapters on mathematical text.U know whu chinese like to use the number nine? haha..i think most are very sure about it.

let me show to u that there are many mathematical text which has sth to do with the no 9. Examples are Shushu Jiu(9) zhang by Qin jiushao...This text contains Heron formula to calculate the area of triangle and the Ruffinin Horner method which help to solve an eqn to a degree of ten .
Yang Hui too wrote Xiangjie jiu(9) zhang suanfa(detailed analysis on the 9 chapters on mathematical rules in the Nine chapters.
talking about yang hui, the pascal triangle is known as yang hui triangle, which is believed to be invent by yang hui.

alright, till that i brief about the chinese mathematics and the origins as well, hope to receive more comments posted in this thread.

Well, I've heard something somewhere about Liu Hui and some stuff about pi.

Erm, yeah, that's about it.

Apparently, all my knowledge about chinese history is sourced from wuxia and Dynasty Warriors......

Shadow gauge? Sounds catchy.

haha, wuxia is very famous and it got lots to do with bloody warriors around like yang guo etc.

talking about medicines aspects, the chinese Huang Di was supposed to have written Neijing Suwen(inner canon, basic question), and Huangdi Su wen( Yellow emperor inner cannon) do you now why cannon is being used?

another Hippocrates of China is Zhang ZhongJing who had written Shanghan Zabing Lun ( treatise on cold and miscellenous disease) which made references to Neijing Suwen.

However, unfortunately,Shanghan Zabing Lun was lost during wars and now has since been compiled into 2 book named Shanghan Lun(treatise on cold damage) and JinKui Yaolue( essential prescriptions on Golden Coffer)..
i wonder why they focus on cold diseases , probably because TCM got its uses and treatment on that diseases.

Huotuo was another famous prominient Han physician. he was the 1st person to use anaestesia during surgery. Thanks to him! we sufer less pain while on surgery.

Huang Fumi was an advocate of acupuncture and moxibustion( very famous treatments though)

Su Song wrote bencao Tujing (illustrated Pharmocopoeia) which categorised herbs and minerals according to their pharmaceuticals uses.

and last but not least, dont forget about the famous forencis expert who inspected crime scene each time he encountered a difficult murder or assault cases. he solved and unravel a lots of mysteries behind a dead body. BRAVO! he also wrote a famous book named Xi Yuan Ji Lu( collected cases of injustice rectified)..i love to watch the movies which play the roles of song ci and illustrate the whole story which was being aired on astro last time .

Okay, that is all about TCM, tarditional chinese medicines and some of the very famous contributors. We should try to appreciate it !
