nay, it is not. make sure u keep up with your classes and UNDERSTAND the concepts. i took for a while for maths, jan to july of my upper six to get that extra exercise.
In your case, if u are confident that you can do it all by yourself (maybe + tuition), then go ahead. I believe school do play vital role too.
If you are doubtful that your school could bring the best out of you, then , better don't.
