Yes the course is very traditional. In my first year the emphasis was very much on the sciences, though we were required to take subjects like sociology, patient contact and epidemiology/statistics.
I heard from someone, that the Medicine course in Cambridge doesn't have much patient contact in the first few years? unlike other unis... what's your opinion on that? are they very traditional in terms of their teaching methods... or otherwise... =P
Well most of my JPA application experiences are already on the thread.
Medicine in Cambridge is fun and a lot of hard work. Details about the course structure are on the Cambridge website. The application is open in September every year and the intake is in October the year following the application.
I'm was reading your comments on the thread last year on the JPA Program Ivy League dan Setara, and found out that you're actually doing Medicine in Cambridge. I'm from Kuching as well but am doing my CIE A-Levels in Brunei and will be done this November. Initially I didn't want to apply to the UK considering that I wouldn't be able to pay off the fees. But after stumbling across your thread I'm looking into applying for the same program as you did.
So I'd like to ask, how's medicine in Cambridge like? and how was it applying for the JPA scholarship... mind sharing your experiences with me?
